Hello,
My wife and I are relocating to the Lake Norman area. We are both retired but active. Wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for a neighborhood that was quiet, where we may be able to have some space, and also be close enough to a boat launch.
Thanks in advance.
Hey, I have actually worked with several folks in a very similar position. I’ll add some suggestions below. I’d be happy to connect and a list of properties together when the time comes.
Huntersville-Bustling suburb on the Southeast side of town. Birkdale Village is a main draw here. This is a great part of town with tons of shopping and restaurants, very walkable.
Cornelius- Another surburb on the east side of lake Norman. Easy commute into CLT. Lots of fun restaurants and places to check out right on the water.
Mooresville is another one on the east side of the lake. This is where you will start to find a bit more space. Lots of new builds and great water access areas. Traffic is starting to be a bit more of a hinderince for some but if you are not commuting into CLT for work it should not be an issue.
Sherrill’s Ford- this is on the north west side of LKNM and is quickly up and coming. It is a bit further from CLT but still not a terrible commute in. Lots of building coming up In this area in the next 5 years. Now would be a good time to jump on something. Lots of great water access and new communities with private access.
Denver- really on its way up in terms of development and growth. It’s on the southwest side of LKNM so the commute into CLT and the airport is a bit better.
Hopefully this helps.
